The 599 is noted for its Sport-Bike” Handling and Performance ... but with ”Sport-Touring” riding comfort and practicality, not to mention the added bonus of ”much lower insurance” rates due to its “Sport Touring” designation.

The 599cc DOHC liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine is derived from the championship-winning CBR600F3 powerplant. However it has been “re-tuned to add extra punch at low- to mid-range rpm for superior real-world street use”. Incredible acceleration, and as a result it is capable of outperforming its CBR600 “Sport Bike” sibling in zero to 60, and quarter-mile times. It’s an absolute blast to ride … but much more comfortable and practical than typical sport bikes.
