Hello to all my sprinkled donuts!!!! I hope you guys are having a great day! Here is my NYE’s makeup tutorial. The video is a classic grey and black smokey eye tutorial that I paired with a soft pink glossy lip! If you ever wanted to know which eyeshadows you should use to create smokey eyes, I walk you through each step in the video.

WHO SHOULD WEAR SMOKEY EYES?

As a makeup artist, I get that question a lot. I feel that if you want to wear the look, then by all means, go for it. Confidence in how you look is sometimes more than how the makeup looks like on you! It’s just like clothes! If you are confident that what you wear rocks, then everyone will feel your vibration and be like, “Wow that outfit looked great on her!”

If you want to get technical, I would say that every day smokey eyes are good for ladies with SMALLER EYES or HOODED EYE LIDS / MONO LIDS. They make the eyes appear larger and give the illusion of eyelids or in the case of uneven eyelids, even eyelids. I think that smokey eyes are also good for those with brown or light colored eyes. They make the eyes appear more bright and make the color of one’s eyes pop! I would not recommend every day smokey eyes for light colored eyes. I think for special occasions or holidays is a great way to make a statement with your eyes!

GREY AND BLACK SHADOWS:

I used our 5 Shadow Ombre Palette in this video http://www.katiebcosmetics.com/collec.... I created this eye shadow palette because I think it is helpful to reference that there are so many shades of greys and black. Also, I think it is important to know that it is best to start with a lighter or medium shade grey when creating a smokey eye. It’s not about starting with all black first because believe me, blending that black is hard once it’s hit your eyes!!!!

SMALLER PORES WITH LA MER CREME DE LA MER MOISTURIZER:

I also showed you a new skin regime La Mer Creme de la Mer that I have been trying. When I was younger and tried the product, I wasn’t in love. I think because my skin didn’t need all the vitamins in their “miracle broth.” I felt like a greasy mess after application. However, I tried it again recently which is about 5 years later and OMG is all I can say. This “miracle broth” is a miracle for middle aged women aka mature skin. The cream looks like lotion but is actually a gel that once applies continues to work and penetrate into the skin. It has made my skin softer, my pores smaller and my dry patches of skin disappear. BROW SHADOWS FOR NATURAL, FULLER BROWS & HIGHLIGHT STICK FOR LIFTED EYEBROWS:

I think in this new year, soft powdery filled in brows will be the way to go with brows. The dark super filled in brows can be too much for the office, lunch date, or your kids’ sports game. The focus of one’s face should be on your beauty and not just on distracting brows. As for the highlight stick, it’s the fastest way to get a clean brow with our concealer side or even a lifted, more younger youthful appearance. Turn back time with highlight stick!
