This just shows a really simple way to synchronize two hydraulic cylinders with different loads. One cylinder is configured with 1000lbs and the other with 350lbs of weight. If you wanted to have better control of a runaway situation then a externally piloted counterbalance valve could be included so you don't have to rely solely on your directional control valve.
