Alocasia Zebrina Complete Care Guide, Repotting and Common Problems

Описание к видео Alocasia Zebrina Complete Care Guide, Repotting and Common Problems

This Alocasia Zebrina is one of the newest plants in my collection. Alocasia Zebrina is endemic to a single island in the Philippines where they are found growing in damp patches usually close to large boulders shaded by the forest canopy. Some sources say that the plant is at risk due to over collection in the wild.

Alocasias love bright filtered light without any direct sunlight as these leaves could easily burn. Make sure to rotate your plant about once a month to keep its growth uniform and symmetrical.

I keep my plant evenly moist, never allowing it to stand in water and never letting it dry out too much. Watering would depend on the pot size - if your plant is in a smaller pot it would require more watering, if your plant is in a clay pot it would also dry out faster than being in a plastic pot and the light and temperature around your plant in brighter light your plant will photosynthesis more and use more moisture so watering really has many variables to it which would influence when and how you water your plant.

When repotting your Alocasia Zebrina use a well draining potting mixture of coco coir, perlite, orchid bark, and well draining potting soil.

During the growing season from March to September in the Northern Hemisphere fertilise your plant with a balanced houseplant fertiliser and during their winter dormancy you don’t really need to add fertilizer as it will only burn the leaves and creates a salt build up as the plant is not using the fertiliser.

I’ve found that Alocasia Zebrina is really easy to care for and belongs in every collection. I hope this video helped you to better care for your Alocasia Zebrina. If you liked this video please give it a thumbs up and please subscribe to see more videos like these.
