Born a premature baby, Grace Hsia Haberl dedicated her undergraduate studies at Michigan Engineering to finding a solution to protecting premature infants from hypothermia. Along with fellow classmates, she developed a non-electric warming blanket and launched it under the start-up, Warmilu.

Manufacturing blankets for more than a decade, Warmilu's mission is to prevent infant deaths from hypothermia across the globe, particularly in countries with limited resources.

Warmilu has brought their non-electric warming blanket to Kenya, where deaths from infant hypothermia are common, and the lack of stable electricity makes it difficult for hospitals to use incubators.

In addition to leading Warmilu, Hsia Haberl is an entrepreneurial management and leadership lecturer at Michigan Engineering and the U-M Center for Entrepreneurship.
