These are its resonant modes from 80 - 800Hz.

These patters are exactly repeatable, which I am demonstrating by starting each one off covered in sand, before vibrating to the displayed frequency.

As the plate flexes and vibrates, nodes and antinodes form. The nodes are the points where the plate is not vibrating, and we see the sand accumulate there.

The frequency itself is not important alone, but must be in collaboration with the perfect variables of the medium for it to form its resonant modes, triggered by these specific frequencies.
