Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Mumbai Branch Office-II Organizes Training Program for Science Teachers.Mumbai, August 30, 2024: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the National Standards Body of India, organized a two-day training program, "Learning Science via Standards," for science teachers on August 29 -30, 2024, at hotel Sun City Rrsidency in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The program aimed to educate science teachers on national standards and their significance in promoting quality education. Shri Sanjay Goswami, DDGW & Shri Sanjay Vij, Sc. F/Senior Director & Head, inaugurated the program and emphasized the importance of standards in academia, highlighting BIS's mandate to formulate national standards and promote their use among stakeholders.
The training program included practical sessions, lesson plans, and a visit to the Western Regional testing laboratory of BIS led by BIS persons, including Shri T. Arjun, Deputy Director, Shri Anurag, Deputy Director, and Shri Aman Singh, Deputy Director & Pushpendra Standards Promotion Officer.
Science teachers from state government schools and private schools participated actively in the program, which provided them with 20 lesson plans to help teach students about standards.
This initiative is part of BIS's efforts to engage with academia and promote the use of national standards in education, ultimately benefiting the industry and consumers.
