Just a quick update of how this years Giant Exhibition Show Onions are doing.
I'm hoping to show a few onions at the famous Harrogate Autumn Show which attracts some amazing exhibits and world record breaking onions.
I sowed some seed in early December hoping to get some Onions around the 5-6 pound + size by August and so far they seem to be doing really well.
I planted out some smaller plants tonight for the smaller 3-3 1/2 pound class and hopefully if we get some decent weather even these little 3 leaved seedlings will reach the weight of about 3 pounds by August.
I also have a couple of the World Record Breaking seed growing which were grown to almost 18 pounds last year by Peter Glazebrook but I'd be over the moon if I could manage a 10 pounder.
So far so good but plenty can go wrong in the next 4 months.
