Many users on Xbox Series X, Series S, and Xbox One are encountering this error in some games. The error message reads: 'Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource. Make sure your video card has the minimum required memory. Try lowering the resolution and/or closing other applications that are running. Exiting...'

The Error message is obviously PC based, but the game has run out of memory and that's not supposed to happen on console versions.

You can try the steps below to resolve this issue.

Restart the Xbox fully (power cycle)
Hold the power button for 10 seconds → unplug for 1 minute → plug back in. This clears cached VRAM.

A quick resume can cause this Error, too
When you switch between games with Quick Resume, the Xbox keeps parts of the game in memory. That can eat up VRAM and trigger the “Out of video memory” error.
Press the Xbox button on your controller and navigate to My games & apps if you see any games or apps on your quick resume

Just highlight the game or app and click on start on your controller, and choose remove from quick resume. You may need to do this two times if it doesn't remove from quick resume.

This forces a fresh load and clears VRAM issues.

👉 If it still happens often, it's obviously a bug or memory leak. In that case, reinstalling the game usually clears corrupted cache/data that triggers VRAM errors.
