The Indian hog deer is one endangered species protected under the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. These small deer, scientifically named Axis porcinus, are found in many parts of Asia.
According to the International Union of Conservation of Nature (IUCN) red list, the current population trend of Hog deers is decreasing.

This particular video shows the release of a rescued orphan Hog Deer fawn during Corona Virus lockdown by wildlife conservationist Manoj Gogoi inside the Kaziranga National Park.
