Plasterers (1953)

Описание к видео Plasterers (1953)

London

Various shots of Norman Shand-Kydd and Victor Smart looking at a design on a theatre ceiling. We then see 76-year-old Henry Hanwell making a plaster cast of the section which will go to replace the bomb-damaged stalls ceiling of The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

Henry brushes plaster over a gelatine mould, puts sacking on top then more plaster. He puts wooden slats on next to give more support.

Another man, Leslie Course, works on a huge clay model of a coat of arms that will be reproduced in plaster. Henry calls for another man to help him lift off the plaster cast. The finished section is put with others leaning against a wall.

Note: company seen here is Messrs Dejong. Notes and cutting on file.
