Scottish Arts Council Dance Traditions Stirling 1994

In 1994 the Scottish Arts Council organised a two day conference on the Diversity of Scottish Dance. This is a video record of part of that conference. The video records the presentations from the bodies representing the various dance genres which are part of Scottish Traditional Dancing. Here you can see exhibitions of Highland, Clogging, Hebridean, Shetland, Ladies Step and Country Dancing along with background information about their origin. The video also records the Ceilidh which was the main social event of the conference. This is a digital transfer from a VHS tape. Unfortunately the video quality is not of the best but this is possibly the only surviving record of this important event.
