After almost two years of gap due to Covid 19 Pandemic and Snowfall the Delhi- Leh Bus service has been resumed in July 2021. The travellers can now enjoy one of the most adventurous and longest journeys through Himalayas. The Interstate bus services were resumed by Himachal Pradesh Government recently.
The bus fare is kept very low for 30 hours journey from Delhi to Leh Ladakh via Manali and Atal Tunnel. The bus will cover a distance of around 1030 Kms and cross some of the dangerous passes including Baralacha Pass (16052 ft), Nakeela Pass (15,540 ft), Taglangla Pass (17582 ft), Lachulung Pass (16,616 ft), before reaching Leh (11,500 ft).

“The route is challenging but our drivers are best.” Said Mangal Chand Manepa, HRTC regional Manager at Keylong.

The Delhi-Leh Bus service continues till September after which various passes on the route see snowfall. The Bus service is expected to improve the tourist influx in the valley.
As of now the RT PCR report was still mandatory to enter Ladakh and tourists should carry the report to avoid undue hassles.

The bus service between Killar and Chamba through the Sach Pass was also resumed in July. Also the electric bus service is plying smoothly between Manali and Keylong through Atal tunnel for the past couple of weeks.

The Delhi-Leh Bus will start at 2.30 PM from Delhi's ISBT and reach Manali at 5.30 AM the next day. It will then start from Manali at 7.15 AM and arrive at Keylong by 1:30 PM where it will halt for the night. It will then start from Keylong at 5 AM and arrive at Leh by 7 PM the same night.

While coming back from Leh to Delhi, the HRTC bus will start at 4 am for Keylong and will reach there at 6 pm for an overnight stay. Next day, the HRTC bus will again start at 6:30 am and will reach Delhi the next morning at 4 am.

HRTC’s longest bus journey of over 1000 Kms from DELHI to LEH and back is now operational. The bus from Delhi to Leh will take around 30 hours which includes a night halt in Keylong

Delhi (Dep.)- 2:30 pm

Keylong (Arr.)- 9 am approx

Overnight Halt in Keylong

Keylong (Dep.)- 5:00 am

Leh (Arr.)- 7:00 pm

As of now online tickets can be booked from Delhi to Keylong on this HRTC website. Tickets to Leh will be extended from Keylong.
COVID Guidelines to be followed in Himachal Pradesh and Leh Ladakh-
• Bus will be running with 50% occupancy
• RTPCR report is mandatory for entry to Leh. Make sure you have nagative RTPCR to avoid any inconvenience. This is Mandatory for Ladakh Entry. Himachal Pradesh government is not asking for the report as per the latest gidelines. The report will be checked at Sarchu and Upshi checkposts.
