The 3rd session of the synod of Owo Diocese Anglican Communion commenced on Thursday, July 18, 2024, with a solemn holy Communion service at St. Stephen Anglican Church, Ipele. The theme of the synod is "Walking in the light of His words: Recipe for spiritual growth."

The synod was hosted by Barr. and Ch. Mrs. Olatubosun Aganun and presided over by the Lord Bishop of the Diocese, Right Rev. Doctor Stephen Fagbemi. The opening service featured a powerful sermon delivered by Right Rev. Doctor Emmanuel Onsachi of Okene Diocese, who emphasized the importance of walking in the light of God's word for spiritual growth.

Right Rev. Adegoke Agara of Idoani Diocese also delivered a thought-provoking lecture on the topic "Episcopally led and synodically governed," which sparked lively discussions among the delegates.

The synod aims to provide a platform for deliberations, prayers, and fellowship among members of the Anglican Communion in Owo Diocese. Over the next few days, delegates will engage in discussions, workshops, and Bible studies focused on spiritual growth and development.

The synod is expected to conclude with a closing thanksgiving service on Sunday, July 21, 2024.
