The Transition Patrol GX Carbon: Spec check of Transition’s MX Enduro Bike

MX means Mix Wheel so 29 up front 27.5 in the back or “mullet”. The advantage for those that want/need it is that your bigger front wheel will roll over stuff easier while your back wheel allows you to make quicker turns than a traditional 29/29 bike. I believe most of the world cup downhill bikes now are all mix wheel, so there is something to it there when seconds count. The Transition Patrol comes in Alloy or Carbon versions so someone on a budget can get a lesser build but still benefit from the geometry and performance and only giving up some more posh components found on the higher trim levels.

The one talked about here is the GX Carbon Build for $5600 at the time of the video. Gives you a lot of value with high end Fox Performance Elite suspension (Basically Factory level without the Gold kashima coating!). GX drivetrain, Raceface wheelset, and dual crown capable frame (so you know it can handle a beating. You also get Transition’s lifetime frame warranty which is nice if you’re worried about carbon durability.
