After sitting there for 3 hours waiting for liftoff, people were not too happy with the little kid who decided to pitch a fit just minutes before launch. Nobody blamed the toddler who was obviously tired and cold, just his toddler-brained parents who thought a 2:28 AM launch on a bug infested cold causeway was a good place for a small child. The funny thing is that he slept for three hours and woke up right at the end! He was almost thrown to the gators by the guys with the really big cameras who takes these launches VERY seriously. Fortunately his mother took him away at the last minute.
The anticipation of the launch was Awesome. Three hours of build up after thinking about it for days and days. You can even hear the excitement in the voice of the NASA commentator at the end. He was totally subdued until the final minute. The liftoff was so bright you couldn't even look at it. This is certainly the coolest thing I have ever seen. EVERYBODY must do whatever they can to watch a launch from the causeway. It is Awesome. Truly awesome!
