Burgmüller's Op. 109 is a collection of 18 studies for piano. Composed by Friedrich Burgmüller, a German composer and pianist of the Romantic era, these studies are designed to help pianists develop specific technical and expressive skills. Each study focuses on a particular aspect of piano playing, such as finger dexterity, legato playing, dynamics, and phrasing.

This piece feature a pastoral character, imitating flute calls of a shepherd. The articulation of staccato, legato, and two-note slur is what the students can work on.
