Yep, they just had to put a Purple Coin mission into here. I thought that you were going to have to race someone, but then, that's what the ghosts are for, I guess.

It's a good thing there is an excess of Purple Coins here, as it would be hellis if you had to grab every single one of them. The slide is designed to be slippery so that no amount of jumping and spinning back up will give you any headway, so any Purple Coins missed will stay missed. That is, until you reset the mission or try again later.
