On December 2, 1988, ground was broken for the new Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace in Yorba Linda, California, the site of the 37th President's birthplace and boyhood home.

President and Mrs. Nixon's daughter, Julie Nixon Eisenhower, officially broke ground and spoke at the celebration.
