Open R Link, A kaizen Google built in reference UI
 
Based on Android Automotive OS, Open R-Link is the ultimate completion of Renault On board UX-UI design strategy relying on of all the fundamentals built since 2012.
Based on L shape functional partitioning dressed-up neatly in a floating panel it features our trademark vertical touchscreen interface and Home page widget portal. As R-Link 2 It also fulfills a variety of user needs thanks to open customizable application content.

Two 12 inch displays concealed in a black panel seamlessly integration of Driving & Multimedia functions.
A “L-Shape” functional zoning places safety information in its top horizontal part when the comfort ones are in its right part vertically pilled up.

The new UX characteristics of this system are an adaptative Driving HMI that meets with 4 views the main users’ needs : Need of being reassured (RéAsourd) with a Classis view, need of anticipation with the Map view, need of Autopilot monitoring with an Awareness view and need of need serenity with a Zen view.

It also improves the efficiency of use of our previous generation of portrait UI with a high clearance interaction estate based a 12 inches screen that accommodates up to 11 text lines scrolling list and 16 icons matrix menu combined with a direct access Navigation bar. This is also a long term solution, studied to comply with forthcoming level 3 Autonomous Driving conveniences.
