A well-known Russian folk song that applauds love. The lyrics were written by the poet and writer Yevhen Hrebinka. First published on 17 January 1843, the Russian love song is followed by "Danube Waves" by J. Ivanovici and the theme song from "Les Parapluies de Cherbourg", that made Catherine Deneuve and Nino Castelnuovo famous in the film classic, "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg", a 1964 movie musical written and directed by Jacques Demy, with lyrics by Michel Legrand. The musical's dialogues are sung by actors, Catherine Deneuve (Genviève Emery) and Nino Castelnuovo (Guy Foucher). An unforgettable musical film! The only one of its kind as far as I know.
