Good morning, friends and families! We hope you are well. Today is Stosh's last full day with us - he gets picked up tomorrow by his family! We are really excited for him and his family, but it will be bittersweet because we love Stosh and his family dearly!
We are currently on serious Labor Watch for Robin - she woke me up at 5:15 this morning, seemingly in some sort of urgency, but she couldn't tell me what it was. We did all the things - got her some water, offered her food, took her outside for some fresh air and to empty bladder and bowels, rearranged her pool and gave her everything she needs to make a good nest. She's uncomfortable but she's happy, as long as she can stroll along with us and be snuggled. Her temp at 6:00am this morning was 99.5, and when I rechecked it at about 9:00 it dropped further to 99.1. Robin was not happy about both pools We moved Remy and her puppies into our closet (temporarily, just for Robin's delivery), Myra over to the corner just outside our closet, and Robin has her pool in front of the fireplace.
We added a public forum to our website. It is still for Channel Members and Families, however the content within is still viewable to non-members. We are hoping this will help provide a place for non-channel members/families to check for updates or information related to the livestream.

Welcome to the Red Barn Cavaliers family home! We invite the families and friends of our puppies 'into' our home to watch their puppy thrive and grow. You are viewing some of our current Cavalier puppies. We perform all of their care on the livestream for families to see and be part of, including vaccinations, weight checks, dewormings, socialization, and so much more.
We raise Cavalier King Charles Spaniels with a proactive approach that places an emphasis on their psychosocial development. We have raised many puppies for the distinct purpose for becoming Emotional Support Animals. This breed of dog has a temperament that is ripe for therapeutic bonding, so we nurture those characteristics to help bring them out and optimize them further.
We potty train our puppies using pine pellets designed for rehydration. The timing is important because as they get older, they crawl away from their nest to potty and poop - so we want them to go to the pellets! Using this method, our puppies typically understand where to go potty within about a week of practice, and they use the potty tray on their own without guidance within about two weeks of practice. By about 6-7 weeks old, they begin waking during the night to use the potty tray rather than wet themselves in their sleep (much like human babies!).
Our young puppies are kept in our master bedroom for 24-hour observation and care. We leave the audio on so that viewers are able to hear the puppies' vocalizations, but that means you may overhear some personal interactions. We prefer this format because we are able to easily provide context or clarity to viewers if necessary. We show you how we potty train our puppies starting as early as a week old, and how we nurture their training throughout their 8 weeks with us to hand off a well-trained puppy to their family.
