“We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love, and then we return home.” – Australian Aboriginal Proverb

After a 430km drive from Alice Springs, our arrival to Ayers Rock Resort was a beautiful contrast to the raw natural beauty of the desert. Uluru is often referred to as the heart of the 'Red Centre' and is one of Australia's most recognisable landmarks and was a ‘bucket list’ destination for us.

Our trip to Uluru was about experiencing and understanding its cultural and spiritual significance. We made a list of things to see and do:
1. Catch a magical Uluru sunrise
2. Take a Segway Guided Tour around the 12km base
3. Dine under the canopy of the desert night for a Sounds of Silence dinner.

Uluru is more than a photo opportunity of an iconic rock formation; it is a deeply spiritual place. You can feel a powerful presence the moment you set eyes on it. At 348 metres high, the monolith towers over the surrounding landscape.

It was truly spectacular to visit one of the world's great natural wonders … Uluru captured our hearts!

Time to hit the road!
