India's Pushkar Camel Fair // 60 Second Docs

Описание к видео India's Pushkar Camel Fair // 60 Second Docs

Ashok of Pushkar, India, is dedicated to saving the camel population in his country. Over the last decade, the camel population has dropped from 700,000 animals to only 200,000. In order to show the world how important camel conservation is, he decorates camels from hump to toe and shows them off at one of the largest camel fairs in Asia, the Pushkar Camel Fair (pushkar ka Mela) in Rajasthan, India. Held each November at the time of the Kartik Purnima full moon, the fair is one of India's most highly rated spectacles on an epic scale, attracting more than 11,000 camels, horses and cattle and visited by over 400,000 people over a period of fourteen days.
