HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG) — A silver 2019 Honda Accord sustained major damage after crashing into a bridge overpass early Sunday morning along the northbound I-15 freeway in Hesperia.

The crash was reported just before 6:45 a.m. on April 6, 2025, near the Joshua Street overpass. According to California Highway Patrol logs, the vehicle left the freeway and struck a bridge abutment.

Emergency crews arrived to find the heavily damaged Honda Accord resting along the right shoulder, with debris scattered across the roadway.

Photos from the scene show extensive front-end, roof, and interior damage to the vehicle. A child’s car seat was visible inside the wreckage; however, no other passengers were reported.

Pieces of debris from the crash were found resting on top of the bridge beams, suggesting the force of the impact caused parts of the vehicle to become airborne.

The driver’s mother later arrived at the scene and informed officers that her son was at home. Emergency personnel were dispatched to check on the driver’s condition.

The crash was reclassified as a 1179 traffic collision, meaning an ambulance was requested. Kelly’s Towing responded to remove the wrecked vehicle, while Caltrans was notified to inspect the overpass for any potential structural damage.

The Victorville CHP office is investigating the collision. At this time, the cause of the crash and the extent of the driver’s injuries remain unknown.
