North Korea has aired footage showing the launch of the Hwasong-19, a new solid-fuel ICBM with demonstrated capability to strike almost anywhere in the United States.

The missile reportedly flew higher than any prior North Korean missile and was tracked by South Korean and Japanese militaries before landing between Japan and Russia.

In the state-run television footage, Kim Jong Un and his daughter were seen at the launch site watching the missile test.

Despite questions about reentry guidance and warhead protection, the Hwasong-19 showed potential range to reach most of the United States.
