I signed up for the Super Heavyweight division as I have worked my way down from ultra heavy to super and was excited to be in a lower weight class. Also ultra heavy has no weight cap.

This week the other two people in my class dropped out of the competition. Maybe because of the snow? So I got bumped up to the Ultra Heavy bracket.

I had to fight Dustin Hurst who is in the ultra heavy division. I didn’t win, but I at least didn’t get submitted and I lost by points. 3-0 because I let him pass my guard. I was able to listen to my coach Professor Reginaldo Almeida of Gracie Barra Spring Hill and survive the 4 minute round.

I was attempting lasso guard to worm guard as this is generally a high percentage game plan for me. I didn't quite make it.
