OMSI 2 | Strathshire Route 28 | Mercedes O530 Citaro Facelift

In this installment of OMSI sundays, I drive a Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro Facelift wearing the Cardiff Bus interim route 9 livery on the route 28 from Strathdon to Strathdon Park & Ride and back via Strathdon Hospital.

The vehicle replicated, CX11 FZS, is a real vehicle with Cardiff Bus (numbered 144) for the route 9 from Cardiff Sports Village to University Hospital Wales via City Centre. This vehicle was new to Bus Vannin on the Isle of Man, and purchased (along with 10 others) in 2021 by Cardiff Bus where 10 were branded for routes 8&9. As of August 2023, route 8 was downgraded to just run between City Centre and Cardiff Bay every 60 minutes, while route 9 was upgraded to every 12 minutes. After this change, the branding was temporarily changed to the interim version shown in this video (references to route 8 and cardiff bay removed and every 10 mins replaced with every 12. If you look closely on the side you can see where the 8 used to be).

Normally I like to use buses realistic to the map, but I thought since Cardiff Bus vehicles feature in the channel logo and banner, I should really do a video using one!
