Malaysia Indonesia Cross Border: Bakelalan Sarawak-Long Bawan Krayan, Trans Borneo Travel 跨境婆罗洲游踪

Location : Desa Long Bawan, Kecamatan Krayan, Kabupaten Nunukan, Kalimantan Utara, Indonesia.

Crossing Border from Ba'kelalan Sarawak Malaysia to Long Midang, Long Nawang and Long Bawan in Krayan Disrtict, Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan Indonesia.
Doing the side tour to Long Bawan using Mr Sem Tagal’s 4X4 vehicle was most memorable. The crossborder trip to this Lundayeh tribe’s town was less than an hour, passing through military and immigration checkpoints on both sides of the border.
Currently there are no proper CIQ on Malaysia’s side and PLBN (Pos Lintas Batas Nasional) on the Indonesian side. We were issued with just a letter stamped by both immigrations allowing us 2 weeks stay although we just wanted a day trip.
The road from Bakelalan to the border was pretty bad with some parts undergoing construction.
A proper CIQ was being built and should be ready anytime soon.
Road construction looked more urgent on the Indonesian side with wide gravel roads thanks yet again to Pak Jokowi’s strategy on infrastructure near the Malaysian border.
We have seen the lightning pace happened In Entikong, Aruk and Badau. We just received news of another new PLBN (or CIQ) planned for Jagoi Babang next to Serikin village near Bau town Kuching.
Hopefully, the Malaysian government will reciprocate and catch up with Jokowi’s. As he joins these dots with the Trans Kalimantan route, Indonesians living near the border of Sarawak can enjoy a better livelihood as envisioned by this no nonsense President. Syabas Jokowi.
Honestly, as we were cruising around Long Bawan town we felt that the grass was greener on this side of the border, for the first time!
We noticed a number of budget hotels around town and a good number of food shops.
Sem suggested a few warongs for lunch but in the end we settled on one which could cook us a nice vegetarian meal.
After which we continued with visits to several places that would interest many tourists. Next…….Lundayeh craft centre (   • Suku Dayak Lundayeh Crafts, Kerajinan...  ), Javanese tofu factory (   • Steam Cooked Tofu, Pembuatan Tahu Di ...  ) and best of all, the highland salt factory (   • Highlands Salt Processing North Kalim...  )

Perbatasan Melintasi Bakelalan Sarawak Malaysia ke Long Midang, Long Nawang dan Long Bawan di Kecamatan Krayan, Kabupaten Nunukan, Kalimantan Utara Indonesia.
Perjalanan lintas perbatasan ke kota Suku Dayak Lundayeh ini kurang dari satu jam, melewati pos pemeriksaan militer dan imigrasi di kedua sisi perbatasan. Saat ini tidak ada CIQ di pihak Malaysia dan PLBN (Pos Lintas Batas Nasional) di pihak Indonesia. Dan ini adalah pengalaman pertama kalinya kondisi jalan kami di Sarawak sangat buruk dibandingkan dengan negara perbatasan !!!

跨境旅行到这个弄达耶族部落的小镇不到一个小时，途经边界两侧的军事和移民检查站。 目前，马来西亚及印尼两方面都没有适当的边境检查站。还有这是我们第一次体验砂拉越的路况，与边境国家相比真是太糟糕了！！！
