Описание к видео Restoring the Gili Islands' coral reefs: Delphine Robbe at TEDxUbud

Delphine Robbe is the impetus behind the Gili Eco Trust, a local NGO actively involved in the protection of reefs and environment of the Gili Islands in West Nusa Tenggara.

She is a French national who specializes in Biorock reef restorations. She shares her passion via workshops; working with locals, including the children and volunteers; networking with other environmental organizations; and educating government.

Gili Eco Trust's main project on land is improving waste management, an ongoing issue for Gili Islands, especially because of tourism, as well as tackling erosion, humane treatment of horses, and safety for turtles.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
