Marian University ABSN students who enroll in our accelerated nursing school in Indiana complete their clinical rotations through Ascension St. Vincent, our clinical partner hospital network in Indianapolis.
During your more than 700 hours of nursing clinicals, which begin your first semester enrolled in the program, you’ll work side by side with some of the top nurses in the region in specialty areas such as:
• Adult Health
• Obstetrics and Pediatrics
• Acute and Long-Term Care

While we can’t guarantee job placement, some ABSN students treat clinical rotations like a 16-month job interview, and often end up with employment offers before they even graduate.
“If you want to work there, it’s very easy to find a unit there you like and voice, ‘hey I would like to work here.’ Usually most managers are like, ‘OK, let’s make it happen,’” says Hannah McNabb, ABSN Class of 2019.
That’s large in part because in addition to working 8- to 12- hour clinical shifts, our clinical partners know Marian University ABSN students are also balancing their online-based theory coursework and labs on an abbreviated timeline — a task that requires an immense amount of dedication.
“You can tell the administrative staff of Ascension St. Vincent really appreciates Marian students,” Hannah says.
Karla Rauch, manager of patient care for medical ICU for Ascension St. Vincent, echoes that sentiment.
“I’ve hired many Marian students onto my unit after graduation,” she says. “That really shows they’re there for the right reasons. They’re there because they want to be and they truly have a passion for caring for people.”
