Remote Fault Time Earth Resistance Monitor (R-FERM) is a smart digital monitoring system designed by MANAV to assess the health of your grounding network, especially earth pits.

It is divided into two main components:
1. FermTalk® – the hardware
2. FermSoft® – the software interface

Let’s start with FermTalk.
This includes two core devices—DataBee and ComByte—supported by accessories like Wi-Fi routers and repeaters.
 
Databee is a sensor that measures the earth pit resistance. It is connected to the Combyte to share its measured value. These sensors are placed inside the earth-pit for accurate measurement .It detects electrical faults and high-energy discharge events, such as during lightning strikes.
It connects to the ComByte using a weatherproof IP68 connector and sends real-time data for analysis.
 
Now comes the software tool FermSoft, a user-friendly, web-based interface built to manage and analyze system data.

FermSoft operates on a three-level hierarchy:
1. The Peripheral Command Centre (PCC) allows engineers to monitor earth pits in specific zones.
2. The Supervisory Command Centre (SCC) gives Area Heads visibility over multiple PCCs.
3. The Central Command Centre (CCC) fully oversees Plant or Unit Heads.

A System Administrator controls access and user roles across these levels.
