When Jimmy Mauric tells the Shiner Beer story, you’re listening to living history. But it was Bavarian brewmaster Kosmos Spoetzl who leased it in 1914, bought it in 1915, and turned it into Spoetzl Brewery - crafting the recipe for Shiner Bock and keeping operations alive through Prohibition by selling ice and ‘near‑beer’ (and maybe the real good stuff too).

Jimmy started washing bottles at 17, learned the ropes under John Hybner for decades, and stepped into the brewmaster role in 2005 - becoming only the sixth in Spoetzl’s over‑a‑century lineage. Under his guidance, Shiner grew from a beloved Texas favorite into a national craft legend -producing over half a million barrels a year across almost every U.S. state.

He didn’t just inherit tradition - he elevated it and kept the German purity, honored Spoetzl’s recipes, and infused a small‑town work ethic into every batch. That’s more than beer. That’s legacy, poured by generations!
