Описание к видео Rome to Orvieto: Take the Train for a Day Trip in Italy

A day trip from Rome to Orvieto is a great idea, any time of the year!
This video shows how to use Italy's train system to get from central Rome to the medieval hilltop village of Orvieto.

To get to Orvieto, in the Umbria region of Italy, you'll go to the busy Roma Termini train station in Rome. The train ride itself is about an hour and 15 minutes from Rome to Orvieto.

You'll enjoy the day trip to Orvieto, strolling the streets, which are full of local shops and big international stores. Plus, the restaurants, bars, and cafes will serve delicious Italian dishes. Many extend their service to patios outside, even in the winter months (when temperatures are still somewhat mild).

You can explore Orvieto's underground labyrinth of caves and tunnels, and also St. Patrick's Well.
The day trip to Orvieto also involves a ride up a funicular (for only 1.50 Euro).
