The Roland R8 drum machine is an iconic instrument in the history of electronic music. Released in 1989, the R8 was one of the first drum machines to use sample-based sound instead of analog sound generation. The SN-R8-04 Electronic sound card further expanded the R8's possibilities by adding electronic drum and percussion sounds to meet the needs of electronic music producers at the time.

This selection includes electronic drums and electronic percussion highly suited for today's Pop, Electronic (Rap) and Euro-pop styles. Sounds such as Reverb Snare and Slap 2, as well as Synthesizer Bass and sounds from the popular TR-808 are included.
