On February 13, 2025, Colton Police Officers responded to the ARCO Gas Station regarding multiple reports of a female armed with a knife. Witnesses reported the suspect was trying to open car doors. Upon arrival, officers contacted one of the reporting parties who advised the suspect entered his vehicle and was refusing to exit. Officers located the suspect in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Sequoia, which was parked next to the gas pumps. Officers gave the suspect multiple commands to exit the vehicle. While inside the vehicle, the suspect lit the interior of the vehicle on fire. The suspect exited the vehicle toward officers while armed with the knife. At this point an officer-involved shooting occurred. The suspect was struck by gunfire. Officers initiated first aid, which was continued by EMS personnel. The 36-year-old suspect was transported to a local area hospital, where she was listed in critical condition. The fire was extinguished by the Colton Fire Department and a knife was recovered at the scene.
