Tuning Intervals For A 5 Tom Kit

Here's a good set of Tom Tuning Intervals I used for a 5 tom kit doing a drum tuning lesson/session for one of my students in Austin, TX. Many viewers have asked about tuning intervals for 5 tom kits so I shot a quick vid. The video includes a "tuning map" with specific notes for the intervals I used, as well as tips for prepping Remo heads. While it's certainly not the only set of intervals you can use on five toms, this set worked well for my students Gretsch Catalina Maple Kit that he had me fit with new Remo Vintage Ambassadors, over the stock reso heads. It's a great starting place for any one wondering how to tune their 5 tom kit, and will help you learn that head choice as well as the drum itself can make a HUGE difference when it comes to choosing your intervals. Although shot on a Cell Phone (sorry no lapel mic), the drums sound surprisingly clear, and toneful. More evidence that a properly tuned kit ALWAYS sounds great. Headphone listening recommended, as I'm quite impressed with the range of this GCM kit much less how good it sounds on just a cell phone lol!!
