Any insult or pathologist in the brain, brainstem, spinal cord, peripheral nerve and the muscles leads to paralysis of the particular part of the body. The main causes are stroke, brain tumor, neuro infections like tuberculosis, cysticercus, multiple sclerosis, head injuries, spinal cord injuries, peripheral nerve injuries. Sometimes multiple sclerosis also leads to the weakness of the body parts. The poisons may be responsible for the involvement of the brain and peripheral nerves, sometimes it may involve the whole nervous system.
