Garden Tour - Come Tour the Ellen Shipman Garden at the Stranahan Estate in Toledo Ohio

Come and join me as I tour the restored Ellen Biddle Shipman garden at the Stranahan Estate at the Wildwood Preserve Metropark in Toledo, Ohio.

Robert Stranahan and his brother Fred started the Champion Spark Plug company. In 1938, Robert Stranahan and his wife built their home and hired a very prominent landscape designed named Ellen Biddle Shipman.

Shipman was one of the first female landscape designers. She designed over 600 gardens for prominent clients including Henry Ford, the Astors, Thomas Edison, and the DuPont family.
