No Engine Start after Rebuild - What Now ? / S4-Ep45

Описание к видео No Engine Start after Rebuild - What Now ? / S4-Ep45

In this episode, we narrow down why the engine of our 2006 Land Rover Discovery 3 TDV6 2.7L does not start after a full engine and vehicle rebuild and restoration. Christian applies all his debug skills and wisdom. Check out if we get it to run. Hope you enjoy the Video.

Technical data:
Trigger wheel and sensor install of 2.7L TDV6 and 3.0L SDV6 engine:

Offset of trigger wheel from dowel location to trigger wheel hole is 110.5° CW when viewed in driving direction from back side of engine.
Insertion dept of the trigger wheel is 3.66 mm +-0.4 mm with max axial TIR of 0.4 mm, measured from the shoulder of the crank to the trigger wheel.
The sensor gap is 0.4 mm to 1.5 mm max.
The trigger wheel delivers 60 - 2 tooth pattern. The missing theeth represent 12° of crankshaft rotation. The reference point is 21° BTDC.
See our Patreon Page for a screen shot of the correct shape of the trigger wheel signal.
Note that the crankshaft sensor uses a 5V supply and ground and provides a output signal connected to a 4.7 k Ohm pull up resistor inside the ECU. If measured in a test setup without the pull up resistor, the output voltage is less and looks wrong. Install a 4.7K Ohm resistor to see the correct output.
Connect the scope to the wiring harness above the LH ECR Valve to get the crankshaft sensor signal:
Ground = Brown with red tracer
Signal = White with red tracer
+5V = Yellow with red tracer
Note that some color combinations are present multiple times in the harness.
ECU will only trigger a fault once the engine starts. No-start no-fault. Engine must also read the cam shaft sensor and will take one crankshaft revolution to sync. If no cam shaft signal is present or faulty, engine will remain in limp mode with reduced power and fault will be logged by the ECU.

Part number of trigger wheel: LR005254 (Price at LR in 10-2023 was 156 Euro)
