So, I said before I wouldn't bother with taming a Yutyrannus on this map. I meant it at the time, and I wouldn't have gone for this one save that it was a shiny! I'm not going to pass up the game offering me a more powerful version of an already extremely powerful dinosaur.

This feathered relative of T-Rex isn't the most offensively powerful, it's true. It does have very good base damage and a decent attack speed, but that's not why people go for this dinosaur. They tame this creature to act as their bardic support in boss fights and PVP.

Yutyrannus has two powerful roars - the courage and the fear roar. The courage roar buffs your allied tames, while the fear roar sends terror into the hearts of your enemies...unless they are just built different.

Honestly, this is one dinosaur that's stood the test of time in ARK much better than the Titanosaur. Even with all the power creep, even with Deinotherium, this creature is by far the best support buff/de-buff tame in the game to this day. On top of its abilities, it's fast and very maneuverable. This allows it to not only do its support job well, but avoid dying in the process! And in the unlikely event that it is cornered, it can hold its own in a fight long enough for help to arrive if needed!

I call this the bard of ARK for a good reason, as it fills much the same role as in Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition. Buffing allies, de-buffing enemies, and being relatively tough in a fight itself. Yep, sounds like a bard to me. Except, instead of being a bit...randy and using an instrument, this thing just yells. It yells very loudly.

This particular one is a Taser Yutyrannus, meaning that if you try and attack it, you will be stunned for a few seconds for your trouble. I'm not sure if that's super useful against a boss. I rather doubt it will work on them, but I'll be laughing in my seat if it does.
