Here is the recipe of surendrnagar famous vadi nu shaak. it is called as khero nu shaak also..which is too much liked by people in special winter season this is a traditional recipe


INGREDIENTS:
To prepare vadi

3 bowl moong dal (yellow)
1 bowl chana(chikpea)dal
(4 star ful
15 to 20 black pepper
10 to 12 cloves)
1 tbsp ginger powder
2 red fresh chilly
Salt to taste

For temporing:
50 gram peanut oil
1/2 asphoetida
2 star ful+3 cloves+2 dry red chilly+2 bay leaf
1 inch ginger+10 to 12 garlic cloves+4 green chilly+fresh green coriander=make green paste
2 onion
2 tomato
1/2 tbsp turmeric
1/2 tbso coriander powder
1/2 garam masala
2 tbsp red chilly powder
Salt to taste
water

First crush all garam masala ,then prepare coarse paste of moongdal and chanadal with red chilly and some water,then add salt ,dry ginger powder and garam masala mix together
Take out this mixture in air tight container and leave it for 7 to 8 hours to marinate ..This vadi always prepare in cold days ..(december to february) after marination u have to prepare this vadi in early morning ..in special utensil of vadi maker..after making vadi let it dry for 3 to 4 days then u can store for whole year

Recipe:
Heat pan,take peanut oil,add asohoetida,garammasala, chopped onion,green paste,chopped tomatoes turn by turn ..and stir well saute well.Then add turmeric,coriander powder,redchilly powder,salt,garam masala as per your taste..then add boiled vadi and mix well together. And garnish with coriander ..serve with bajari rotla(loaf),bhakhri,paratha etc.
