For more than 10 years, Paralimni Youth Council has been transforming the city of Paralimni, Cyprus, through innovative youth-led projects, cultural initiatives, volunteering, and community action. In 2024, our young volunteers took on their biggest challenge yet—submitting Paralimni’s candidacy for the title of the European Youth Capital 2028.

This trailer was presented to the official European Youth Capital Jury, showcasing everything we have achieved as a community. From large-scale cultural festivals to social impact projects, Paralimni Youth demonstrates how a small Mediterranean town can create world-class initiatives driven entirely by young people.

Over the last decade, Paralimni Youth has launched some of the largest youth-produced events in Cyprus, including:

🌕 MoonWalk – Cyprus’ biggest and longest street music festival, held under the full moon along the stunning Protaras coastline, featuring 130+ musicians and thousands of participants.

🎬 Protaras Summer Film Festival – the largest open-air cinema festival in Cyprus, offering free blockbuster screenings to more than 30,000 visitors every summer.

Through these events—and dozens of civic, cultural, environmental, social, educational and health initiatives—we built a model of local youth governance that inspired youth councils across the island and influenced national youth strategies.
