This video shows how to make seepu seedai / seepu murukku / surul murukku, a Diwali special snack. This surul murukku is prepared during festival season like krishnajayanthi and Diwali. Seepu seedai / seepu murukku / Surul murukku is made using rice flour and Monga dal flour.
Adding coconut milk enhances the taste and flavour.

INGREDIENTS:
Raw rice 1 heaped cup
Moong dal 1/4 cup
Coconut half ( prepare 3/4 cup of thick coconut milk )
Required salt
Sugar 5 small spoon
Ghee ( optional )

METHOD:
1. Soak the raw rice in water for 4 hours. Then drain the water completely.
2. Grind it as nice powder then sieve it. Dry roast the rice flour till it dries.
3. Dry roast the moong dal till it turns nice golden brown colour.
4. Allow it to cool, then grind and sieve it.
5. Mix the moong dal flour with roasted rice flour and grind it once to get smooth powder.
6. We can store it in bottle upto 30 days.
7. Add salt and sugar in coconut milk. Mix it well.
8. Add the salt and sugar mixed coconut milk to the flour.
9. For one cup flour we need 3/4 cup of coconut milk.
10. Knead it as thick dough. If required we can add less water.
11. Prepare surul murukku using achu as shown in the video.
12. If we don't have surul murukku achu, we can use comb.
13. This surul murukku also known as seepu Seedai.
14. Fry it in low flame to get crispy seepu seedai / seepu murukku / surul murukku.
