With the release of the 2020 Halloween update we got a few new weapons and in this video I'm trying out the Firebug's HRG Scorcher.

Modeled after the Tier 1 HX25 Grenade Pistol, the Tier 3 HRG Scorcher is an interesting weapon that shoots a flare that lights the way and to solid objects, or leaves a trail of fire for a short distance.

At first I thought this weapon was quite useless with my usual build but after changing up a few things I found that this little flare gun can pack a big punch.
Here are the following things I learned from using the weapon:
-The alt-fire is your main source of damage and effective when you shoot it at a cluster of zeds. Because of this I recommend using the level 10 Ground Fire perk.
-The primary fire is surprisingly effective at killing big zeds but not bosses (This might not apply to multiplayer).
-The alt-fire require some distance for it to start leaving a trail of fire so make sure your secondary weapon is something that you can use for close range.
-Sirens' screams can nullify your flares so deal with them first or shoot carefully.

While I'm not confident that this video shows the true potential of this weapon but I feel like this video at least shows that the HRG Scorcher is a welcome addition to the Firebug's arsenal of mass arson. I'm going to play around with this gun a little more to see if I find anything more about it.
