Tips on growing this particular variety:
Heavy pruning during winter
Better size grape clusters than last summer
Poor (shot berries) and good fruit set this year. Shot berries can be reduced with proper winter pruning and fertilizing. weather can cause this but its not like we can control the weather during the flowering stage.
For best production cane pruning and cluster thinning for Lakemont.
Heavy rain causes minor splitting (very minor splitting about 10% of crop)
Lakemont recommended for home gardening and not commercial once ripen tends to be very fragile and does not hold up well during transport.
