AL11 transaction is used for controlling the files stored in the application server. All the directories can be seen in the AL11 directory. The basic process which can be done in AL11 transaction such as uploading, downloading and deleting the files.
1. it's SAP file directory and here we can see list of SAP directories associated files in it
2. it's used to store data on application server where SAP and non-sap system can access it
3. it's good for interfacing between different systems
4. SAP Basis team can usually configures this directories in AL11.
5. To download the file tcode should be CG3Y
6. To upload the file tcode should be CG3Z
7. To delete file from AL11 (FM should be EPS_DELETE_FILE)
8. Report to transfer data from application to presentation server/presentation to application CACS_FILE_COPY
9. Table to check user created directories USER_DIR
