This video is all about Germany (Deutschland), on of Europe's most important countries.

Germany is the most populous country in the European Union, and has the largest economy in the EU. It also has the fourth largest economy in the word based on its GDP (after the USA, China, and Japan). That is quite impressive consdering its relatively small size: it's only the 62nd largest country in the world.

The Federal Republic of Germany has 16 states. The most populous state is North Rhine-Westphalia, which has a population of around 18 million in 2022. Its major city of Düsseldorf is not the largest in Germany if counted on its own, but it's part of the largest metropolitan in the country: the Rhine-Ruhr Metropolitan area with around 11 million inhabitants.

The largest individual city is Berlin, with a population of around 3.6 million. Berlin was once divided by the Berlin Wall, with East Berlin being part of East Germany and West Berlin being part of West Germany. This ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union and the tearing down of the wall.

There are many German companies that are famous around the world, including BMW, Volkswagen, Adidas, Puma, and many more.

► NOTE: There's a mistake at 8:59 -- The German flag is pushed up too high, so the black strip at the top is hidden (because it's outside of the tv screen area) and there is empty black space below the flag, which is nothing but it looks like a black stripe at the bottom.
