Georgetown! Yes, that Georgetown. How about a snapshot of DC’s Two Triple Zero Seven!?!

DC’s 20007 is a pretty cool zip code. It has loads of charm and oh does it know a thing or two about location. Think of Foxhall, Berkley not the one in California but here in DC, Glover Park, Observatory Circle, Burleith, and Georgetown. Yes, that Georgetown. The old British tobacco seaport and home of the university.

Georgetown is the perfect destination for a walkable outdoor shopping experience. It is the largest in the region if not the country with its one hundred and fifty (150) clothing and fashion stores from independent boutiques to international brands.

There is also a design district with forty (40) interior design and home furnishing stores and art galleries.

After all that shopping there are over one hundred (100) restaurants for you to enjoy like one of my favorites Baked & Wired. Perfect for that Saturday morning pastry.

Check this out there is even a section of the old C&O Canal that runs through town that has been recently restored. Fun Fact: George Washington’s Potowmack Company’s canals were incorporated into the C&O Canal in 1824

Looking for more of that boutique shopping vibe? Head up the hill to Book Hill. Fun Fact: Wisconsin Ave was originally called High Street like a British main street.

Now for some real estate, four hundred twenty-eight (428) homes traded in the zip code this past year for an average sales price of $1,901,442 and with an average of thirty-one (31) days on the market.

The highest price achieved in the zip code was here in the East Village of Georgetown. This stately circa 1928 red brick home measures over 9,400 sf on a 4,800 sf lot with six (6) bedrooms, nine (9) full and two (2) half baths, a private pool, expansive rooms and traded for $9,500,000 in July 2021.

Urban Turf recently reported that Georgetown saw the highest increase in median home prices in DC for 2021 with a 32% jump.

As for Condos and Co-Ops. There were two hundred seventy-five (275) units to trade this past year for an average sales price of $617K with an average of thirty-five (35) days on the market.

The highest sales price for a condominium this past year in the zip code was here at the ultra-luxurious Ritz-Carlton Georgetown. Penthouse 2E, totaled over 6,500 sf with four (4) bedrooms, four (4) full and two (2) half baths, three (3) terraces of 2,800 sf, floor-to-ceiling windows, and unparalleled views traded for $7,850,000 or $1,193 psf.
