Melancholic Dub House (live jam)

Live music performance using only hardware, no computer involved.

It's a more polished version of the last video, which served as a test of new recording procedure.

Adding some info abou the composition and connections for synth nerds:

MIDI:
Tascam Model 12 as master midi clock to Beatstep Pro
Arturia Beatstep Pro as sequencer for:
- Korg Minilogue XD (dub chords)
- Yamaha Reface DX (bass)
- Roland TR-8 and Volca Sample (percussions)
also sends clock to:
-Arturia Minifreak is using its own sequencer (secondary dub chords)
-Arturia Keystep 37 to Volca Keys (arpeggios)

Audio:
Recorded on SD card in Tascam Model 12 as a Stereo Mix
Stereo mix "mastered" in Cubase (tiny little bit of EQ, compression, saturation and limiting. Nothing too crazy, it wasn't really needed, just trying to learn a bit about basic mastering)

Effects used:
Korg Minilogue XD (internal - flanger, tape delay, little bit of reverb)
Arturia Minifreak (Specular Reverb V3)
Volca Keys (Korg NTS-1 - phaser, stereo delay, reverb)
Yamaha Reface DX (just very little use of internal hall reverb in Tascam Model 12)
Roland TR-8 (Zoom CDR70 - little bit of something weird, can't recall)
Volca Sample (nice amount of hall reverb from Tascam M. 12)

Used varied amounts of one knob compression and EQed on Tascam Model 12.
